While this is a good alternative to get the news, and has picked up some interest, it still falls short of the "color" that comes when video is shown together with the audio news. One critique is that, since it is a paid service rather than being free, then the content should be structured in such a way that it becomes immediately informative so that the resulting cost will not be so high.
There are several blog sites that lament the fact that Fox News has ceased to offer live feeds of its news programs, in concert with similar moves by the other major news networks. These sites express distress and disappointment over the fact that the need for breaking news in areas where there is no access to Fox News and similar news channels via cable or satellite TV. While Fox News has somehow addressed this issue with their live audio feeds via cell phones, this is not a free service and is audio exclusive. There are suggestions being made that Fox News revives their live feed broadcast via the Internet, even if this will be via membership with appropriate and reasonable service fees charged.
